Frame Bolts Torque ?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I installed my nerf bars on my truck a while ago, and I took off those huge bolts to get them on, I believe those are the same bolts that hold the cab and box on the frame ?

Anyways, I tightened them, but I am just paranoid that they might be too loose, and I also don't want to overtighten them and snap them ..

Is there a torque spec for those bolts anywhere ? does anyone know where to find it ?

Thanks

The shop manual will have the torque settings. I don't have mine with me, but it is in there somewhere.

That's for a dry bolt, right? If you grease or oil the bolt, this much torque will cuase almost twice as much preload in the bolt, which is not good.

Thanks !

I don't own a shop manual so I would have had to buy one ... I also did not grease or oil the bolts ... . was I supposed to ?
