Which Tuner To Buy?

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra Denali. I've looked at a black bear one but I'm not sure if it's available for my truck. The one I've been looking at getting is the Bully Dog 40410 Triple Dog Programmer. I've never used one and I'm just wanting one I can switch from economical to "I don't care how much fuel I burn" performance.

id look into the Predator or trinity tuner.

Both have user adjustable options, so you're not stuck with whatever comes out of the box, should you decide you want to make any changes inthe future.

Both also have great datalogging capabilities, and can support custom tunes should you decide to upgrade some part in the future ;)

Thanks

Black Bear Performance offers both engine and transmission tuning for your 08 Denali with the AutoCal (and in-person tuning). If you ask any 6 speed owner that has tuned both the engine and transmission, they'll tell you how important the full transmission tuning is (not just some faux firmness increase). Our tunes are built on the experience of hundreds of similarly equipped vehicles to yours, not just one or two that we've had at our facility at some point.

Most guys on here will tell you to get a Black Bear tune and everything else is a waste of money. It all depends on what YOU want. I have had a DiabloSport Predator for some time now and it's perfect for me. I didn't need a custome tune for performance, I was just looking for a little better drivability and something that I could disable my AFM on my truck, that's what I got. It's all up to you really, do some reasearch before making a decision based off of what others tell you to do. When you know exactly what you want and what you want to spend, go for it. You can also have a custom tune done with a DiabloSport hand held unit. Again, it's up to you.

Also it depends on how much money you want to spend for a custom tune built exactly for your truck I.e. BB. Which is cheaper than most if not all handheld tuners, or if you want to pay a stupid amount of money for a run of the mill tune that's. Basically generic for many makes and models.

I've had both and the BB tune is much better :nonod: I won't say handhelds are a waste, they have a function but BB with Autocal is better.

I couldn't agree more! Definitely do research- this is something folks should do for any product they purchase for their $30K+ vehicles.

As a matter of fact, many handheld tuners happen to have a forums where customers can ask questions and get feedback- quick searches can provide tons of info.

BlackZ71Silverado, is this you in this thread?

Wow I read that forum post and it seems like customer service isn't very professional at all, though I'm sure ther are a very select few that are prof. And helpful, it looks like most are just not.
