2011 W/s Washer Bottle Updated

In Sept' when I filled up my w/s washer bottle, I noticed a portion of the fluid had leaked out on the driveway. You could see where the level had dropped in the filler neck. I topped up the bottle and the level soon started to drop & fluid dripped out from under that corner of the truck. I removed the brackets and could see where one of the screws had gone thru the "top" of the main portion of the bottle causing the leak. Two different length screws are involved in the assembly. I wonder if the wrong length was used?

 

Anyways, I stopped at my dealer on Sept' 15th and showed them the issue. They said no problem and ordered the replacement. I hadn't heard from them a couple of weeks ago. They said the replacement bottle had come in, but GM recalled it. They called last week and the new part #22777344 was. I got it replaced on Monday.

The service writer was sorry for the delay in getting the repair done, but I said it would've been more of a headache if GM had recalled the 1st replacement bottle after it had been installed, resulting in another trip to the dealer.

Wonder if all 2011's are effected. I don't have a leak but fall/winter weather a leak could be a problem.

I don't think all of your fluid is lost, just down the filler neck to the "top" of the bottle.
