I go a lot, plinking with 22's and shooting clays. I've got it good, I can just walk out of the house, or head to the pond and shoot. Got a Rem NitroMag 887 a couple years ago, and I love it. Smoothest racking pump i've shot. KS deer rifle season opened today... I know what I'm doing for the next two weeks...

Don't get to go as often as I want. But thanksgiving day was fun. Went through about 500 shotgun shells, lol. There was a few sore shoulders the next day.

I used to go to the range every week with a friend of mine that's a cop. Then 9MM rounds became impossible to buy a couple years ago and we just stopped going. We can buy them again but they're 4X the price. When they first came back, a box of 50 was over $100. CRAZY...... now I have ~1,000 rounds that I bought @ $17 a 50/box (just in case). I used to buy them at Walmart for $10 for a 100/box. That made shooting affordable.

My wife got me a really nice .22 pellet gun w/scope for Christmas..... It's really fun (and cheap) to target practice with. I shot a rat with it @ 30 yards and it went right through him. I thought that was pretty impressive. :)

WOW! $17 for a box of 50? No wonder you haven't been shooting much lately. Can still find cheap ammo here for $8/ box of 50.

I love hunting and have always shot rifles and shotguns, but never fired a handgun. thinking about picking one up for the range. Any ideas?

i love shooting my beretta 92 9mm but im way more accurate with dad's glock 19 9mm. those are the only two that ive really had experience with. i would love to get my hands on a HK usp compact in 45 but those bad boys are pricey.

When was the last time that you checked? I just tried my regular supplier and they are on short supply again. I hope you're stocked up... If I could get them for $8 a box, I'd buy 10K rounds today.

Local Fleet Farm store has 9MM right now for $8, cheap russian brand but still go bang, perfect for plinking at the range. Even the local Wally world you can get them for $10 a box. Wonder if it has to do with you living in California? Do they have any kind of special taxes or anything on ammo?

:dunno: could be a CA thing...... I think that the gangs use the 9MM rounds in uzzi's or something.

I have a couple 45's and a 44mag (which is a silly weapon IMO) but I can't shoot the darn things because I have arthritis in my wrists real bad. My 9MM Ruger hardly has any recoil at all.

Well I shoot almost everyday it is my job. So what do you guys like to shoot? Do you like a challenge like long range say 600 meters or more? Do we have any professional shooters in here or any veterans or military like me?

I'm in the military but the most I shoot on a regular basis is a BB gun at a cat that wonders the neighborhood...

I do like shooting just don't own anything & haven't looked into any local ranges to shoot at.

I shoot at least 3 times a month, mainly Trap, I shoot a browning o/u xt trap. I also do a local turkey shoot

Absolutely on the shooting! I compete in 3 Gun matches when the weather is agreeable, even when it isn't. Last one of the matches last summer began with a shooting and weather safety briefing. Me standing there with my new FN SLP, the cadillac of shotguns baby!

I just ordered an AR with 1000 rounds of 223 and picked up a Remington 1911 R1 for only $540 so am going to go as soon as the AR comes in.

The squirrels in my neighborhood are pretty familiar with the sound of a 22 marlin with CB loads. Got 42 last year off the 1 bird feeder in my back yard. we have lots of squirrel roasts. (kids thought for the longest time we were eating skinny chickens)

This is the best thing I've read all day... reminds me of shooting rabbits with the pellet gun and having my dad roasting them up when I was young.
