My 07 had piston slap from day one, 400 miles on her brand new, and plenty of others on here have posted of having it on their GMT900s as well.

Interesting... I've been on here pretty consistently since ~2008, and haven't read much about it. My '99 did it after sitting for a while, but none of the 07+ trucks I've driven (or friends) have it. I have read numerous posts re: valve ticking at startup, but not much about "piston slap". I guess I missed those, or it didn't catch my interest.

I've been off an on this board for the past 8 years and the issues date back that far. When the 07s/GMT-900s first came out, I remember distinctly a ton of posts from people upset about piston slap being present in these engines and not having gone away from the previous generation GMT-800s. The engines are pretty much the same, they just upped the power a bit with a few minor tweaks.

New to the forum and joined just for this reason, picked up a 2002 yukon XL with a #6 broken rod,5.3l, 244000 miles, trying to decide the best course of action from this point on.

Sounds like it's time for a new vehicle IMO.

Earlier you posted that you got the Auto Web engine. This post appears to say that GM did something for you. Actually, your post reads like it was written after the party. Can you give us a sober version please?

Well maybe you should read it again, I did not slur my words , Try having someone explaining it to you.

I was referring to the writing style you use. You jump around topics, and speak in half sentences, perhaps someone will it to you.

Did not say you slurred your words. Said it looked like it was written by someone that had been partying too much. I was referring to the "not staying on topic" style of writing. Just like someone who has been drinking too much when they talk to you.

Doug........ not sure why you are having a problem with CaptainHook3' writing....... Maybe you missed the 1st post in the thread :dunno: ....... Anyway... it all makes sense to me and not many of us are professional writers..... :P
