Front end (right possibly) clunk when idle after stopping

Hey guys,

So this morning I noticed this. I was stuck in traffic and each time I would press the accelerator for a while, at low speed, then stop, after 10-15 seconds of being idle, CLUNK/POP in the front, possibly right. Would do it again if I stayed idle long enough.

The heater was on. Outside temp was about 32F.

I say that I only heard it when idle because I don't think I could hear it while in movement, but I'm still pretty sure it's only on idle.

Truck specs in my profile info on the left of this post.

Any ideas ?

Thanks!

Hmm, good question. I'm fairly new to all those options since I was driving a WT (work truck) for years before, so it could have been on without me turning it on on purpose. How could I tell ?

uh you look at the dial and see where the vents were pointing for airflow....i asked because the a/c compressor runs when you have defog or defrost on...my 04 thumps when the compressor cycles at idle, but then again i believe the compressor won't cycle below a certain temp

I remember the (hot) airflow to either point at my feet or face/feet. Is the compressor on the right side on an 07 truck ?

It is on the 5.3, way down low. You'll have to take a peek.

Hmm, the defrost what indeed on. As soon as I turn it on, I can hear the clunk. Without it, I don't. Thanks jro909
