I know I'm 15 days early, but UPS and FedEx take time. Anyone gotten anything cool or nice already? I know my list is filled with parts for my truck. Pics are encouraged. I'm hoping i can get some more ideas.

And you don't like getting gifts? :dunno:

He does this every year... ignore him :)

edit: to the point of the original post... when you have a few kids to buy for, you start caring less and less about what "I" want. I don't have time to deal with anything for me at this time of the year, so I tell my wife !! do not buy me anything !! I'd rather wait 'til Jan/Feb to get myself a little something fun. I'm thinking the Autocal will be a good one this year, but I have other things too. Heck, you can buy an iPad for the price of the Autocal.

Now, as far as Christmas? I got my gift from my GF a month or so ago............. A new pair of riding boots for snowmobiling. Other than that, I bought myself a new snowmobiling coat, her a bunch of girly things (slippers, etc) and did a bunch of repairs on her snowmobile and Jeep, free of charge.

Ain't that the truth. My wife and I haven't exchanged gifts in years. Besides, we generally just get what we want when we need it. :dunno: The kids are the priority

Big time. It's a lot of fun trying to figure out what to get them (not easy though), and to see their anticipation. We don't buy much in the way of "toys" through the year, and we also make them put some practical wants on their "list" (jeans, shoes, whatever). I also want them to put their "pie in the sky" ideas (knowing they probably won't get it... but it gives you an idea of what they really like). We prefer to spend on family activities, rather than plastic/electronic stuff... but Christmas is the time I'll likely say "fine with me... it's what they want and it's within their budget"... knowing that I may as well pile some money in the fireplace and light it. Oh wait... just like buying a new truck :)

I'm hoping for gift cards to Sears or Menards so that I can buy tools. I guess you could say the Eric Church/Brantley Gilbert tour tickets I bought last night were an early chiristmas present to myself. Can't wait to see BG!

I have been informed that I have some of those on the way via the GF's family.

I hear BG rocks, live.

Awesome man!! I missed him at a local bar in Indy where my GF lives and I was soooo pissed. It has been a long time coming and I'm pumped as I was a huge fan of his before Aldean cut his stuff so I'm really happy to see him come into his own.

Plus Eric Chrurch is a rockin show too. Saw him twice last year as an opening act.

I didn't see him myself but a good friend of mine did and if he would have sucked, this friend would have said so but no, he said he rocked, for sure. I kick myself in the ass for not joining him because he had two spare tickets to that same show but I had other plans that night that I couldn't get out of.

I'm not a huge country fan, more like a country fan by default due to being born and raised in the country, but I've always been an Aldean fan. Call it corny but I even had the idea of having a small sticker made for the bottom lip of my tailgate that said, "Hittin' easy street on mud tires." (grew up in the country and now live in a city of over 150k) that I wanted to put on after I got my Trail Grapplers on this coming spring but I see somebody in the city I currently live/work in, already beat me too it. :nonod: The boys around my hometown would get it thought.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
