Body lifts opinions

I have never been a fan . I always have lifted via suspension . I have a Daystar 2" leveling kit , but would like a little more lift . I was thinking about taking my 2" leveling kit off and doing a 4" lift like "Nuke" has on his truck (only with 285 tires) . So the thought came to me about a 1.5" or so body lift instead .

I know a body lift does not effect suspension , but whats all involved in doing it ? Does it cause any limitations for hauling heavy weight in the bed ?

I do not like the way the frame gets exposed and the look of them but figured if I did a small enough one that would not be seen. What happens to the bumpers ? Do you get brackets to raise them ?

I do like suspension lifts (mainly small ones ) because you can obtain better ride , handling and off road ability than stock .

My goal is not doing something the cheapest way , I don't mind spending the money to do it the right way. I am just concerned about that whole skipping or skidding stuff I hear about , the turning radius , the stabiltrak not working properly act....

your thoughts and opinions are welcome . I need to educate myself

Thank you

Mike

A body lift will not affect your ability to tow/haul. Bumper brackets are needed. The frame being visible on these trucks is a moot point (assuming you have a 900), and the skipping/turning issue is suspension/alignment related so a body lift will not affect that either. Body lifts are a good healthy way to lift and I personally wouldn't do anything but a 3".

Deintely need a 3" for a couple of reasons.

1. You will regret not going bigger.

2. as far as I can remember, the 1.5" does not come with bumper relocation brackets.

Had 3 inch body on last truck. Take your time and do it right and you won't have any problems. Comes with bumper brackets. Spring for the fender liners and you can cover up the gap at the frame.
