Service Airbag Light

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone can help me out? I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD 4.8L V8 and the service airbag light came on but I am not getting any DTC's? Also the light comes off & on and it seems as if I'm getting low voltage through the truck when it comes on. Can anyone help me on this?

The airbag system has to be read by an SRS scanner. A regular scanner will not read ABS or SRS codes. You'll have to have someone with an SRS capable scanner read the code. Your GM dealer may or may not charge you to read it. The proplem is likely one of the airbag sensors behind the front bumper.

and he also means to not just throw sensors at it ,go get it diag'd at a dealer

 

and yes low voltage does strange things,the army crap i work on,03K2HD have low voltage problems and weird things happen

 

charge up your battery first ,go for a rip and see if the light comes back
