Seafoam out the tailpipe

Litteraly. I gave my truck a Seafoam treatment today and I dont think it liked it. First, it tried to idle very sparatically and trying to die when I pulled the brake booster hose. It actually began to run smoother as I introduced the liquid.

After it was all in, I shut off the truck, and noticed a large puddle under my tailpipe exit. Didnt think much of it at the time. But, when I cranked it up after 20 minutes of soaking, there wasnt much smoke. Again I didnt think much of this until I looked under the tailpipe again and noticed that the puddle was bigger.

I just feel like it didnt do much on the first treatment, so I bought the aerosol kind and will try that tomorrow.

So, I was wondering if anyone else that has performed a treatment through the brake booster vacuum hose has noticed that most of their Seafoam is exiting through the tailpipe?

Seafoam always works great for me, this is how I do it.........I start my Truck/car until it warms up. Then I disconnect the vaccuum line and start pouring in the Seafoam very slow. The engine should seem like it is going to stall when you are pouring it in (try not to stall the engine it may vaccum lock and that's not good). When I get down to about half a can, I shut 'er down and let it soak for maybe 5-10min. Start it back up, should see cloud coming out of exhaust from running the Seafoam though, I usually just sit in the drive way and rev the engine to clean it out, nothing wrong with going for a ride BUT I don't want to cause a hazard on the road.

I never use the entire can, don't know if that had anything to do with it or not, also never seen just a puddle from the tail pipe either. Don't know what went wrong.

Seems like you let it soak to long. When you cranked it up did you rev the engine to blow out all the carbon? Doing so helps and I believe is recommended. It will not work properly if you just allow the vehicle to sit at idle.

I have used it in my previous vehicles and in buddies, I've never seen a puddle...... only smoke

Thats exactly how I did it. I only used a half a can through the brake booster vacuum line. It did smoke a little and I was dogging it to get it to blow the carbon out. We went out to dinner and I drove the P*SS out of it. But, while I was picking up some stuff to change my oil, I found the Seafoam Spray and tried that this morning. That made a huge difference. That was the smoke I was looking for. I think the spray worked much better.

As far as the puddle, I think it may have just been water because as I was doing some modification to my tailpipe, I noticed a lot of clear liquid that kept drpping. I carefully sniffed it and ran it between my fingers and it was just water. The puddle last night did feel slightly greasy like a petroleum product, but that could have just been from something already on the concrete.

The puddle - my 2011 dumps more water out the muffler and tailpipe while idling than any vehicle I have owned. The first time I changed the oil I backed out of the garage far enough to get the tailpipe outside and idled to warm it up. There was water everywhere.

I almost guarantee you it was just water- condensation in your exhaust system. Very common

Oh I know, but it was more moisture than Im used to seeing. Plus, it has been colder than normal, and it was the first time I have run the truck in a few days. I guess I just noticed it because I was trying to make sure nothing was going wrong since I was doing th treatment. But, it did it today so I am not as concerned.

I do that a lot. I will work on my truck one day and spend the next week being paramoid about sounds and fluids. They may have always been there, but because Im being paranoid and extra attentive, I notice them more and I get all uptight about them.

My last one was the rear diff fluid since I used synthetic "blend".
