Strange electrical problem

Hey guys, I'm having an annoying problem i was wondering if anyone has ever come acrossed this before? The problem has two parts to it:

1. When traction control kicks in the headlights dim significantly. For example, if you are driving in snow (in 2WD) and start spinning and the traction control kicks in, the highlights start dimming right along with when the traction control is kicking in. Is this normal?

2. The other issue (its VERY VERY minor) is when i'm driving, at any speed, and first apply the brakes, the headlights dim just for a split second and ever so slightly. Most people would never even notice it, that is how lightly it dims the headlights. Its annoying to me but even i dont notice it unless i'm paying attention and looking for it. This does not seem normal to me, anyone else experience this?

Normal. The alternator output is on demand so some high draw items will dim the lights.

I also have this problem. I find it hard to believe that when they designed the on-demand type system.. they didnt have some inline device (like a capacitor) to retain a bit of power to handle the sudden draw items. Cheap not to have a solution for this.

It is how the trucks are. There is no fix because there is no problem, the system is operating as designed. I've never tried but keeping it in tow/haul might help as that's supposed to make the truck put out more power to charge the trailer battery and run the brakes.

This was one of the main reasons i upgraded my alternator / BIg 3 wiring / and battery. The factory wiring is barely sufficient to run oem stuff..

My issue grew when i was trying to power all my addons.. Stereo, HID's, other aux lights , compressor for aux air / horn.. etc..

If you did the big 3 upgrade , it would help get the power to the lights that they need.. But most likely without upgrading the battery to, it would not correct the issue. My lights no longer blink or dim from lack of power. Only thing i hear dropping in power sometimes is my compressors when the engine rpm is low which is not a big deal.
