Give me an EB in a Mustang(well not a Mustang, not a fan of the look) and it would be a lot of fun, but keep it out of a truck, no place for turbo V-6s in trucks, any trucks. Keep that in mind GM!

sorry, but i think you'll be disappointed with the next platform then. the ecoboost has been a strong seller for ford, and gm would be stupid not to grab some market share.

there will always be a v-8 option in all chevy/ dodge /ford trucks. the market is still there, and always will be. they are just making room for a new engine that could possible have a place in the working mans world

True, I see a lot of EcoBoost F-150's in my area. Some of the owners I talked to aren't all that impressed mostly due to the MPG. They say they are not gettin anywhere near as good as their older trucks. My neighbor actually bought one, funny thing is it doesn't sound like a truck, sounds more like it should be a Nissan car or something. I did not drive it but did go for a ride with him and it seemed pretty quick from the passanger seat. Not a bad powerplant I guess, just not my cup of tea.

If GM is smart enough to take a piece of that market, they need to have better MPG's than the F-150. Ford advertised numbers are nowhere close to the real world. GM needs to improve on that BEFORE they just throw something together.

I know Boss302 is now banned but I think truck trend just did a test and the EB and the 5.0 were with in 10's of a second from each other on multiple test with the two winning a couple of each. I didn't read all of it but i think that the 5.0 beat the boost with a trailer. Lets see if one can live 150K with a trailer behind it half its like. The EB is just a trendy engine that will last a couple years just like a ford Diesel, in about 3-4years there will be a whole new design come out. Why do you think the EB didn't last in the taurus?

Like all "new" technology, Chevy will come out with their "new" last....but the bowtie will do just that, LAST!

Rumor from reliable sources tell me that GM has an EB compeditor of it's own, in testing for the CK2XX platform. I'll be interested to see what happens with it.

This past weekend, a friend of mine (who also owns the Ford dealership in my hometown) was pulling a trailer about 1000ish lbs heavier than the one that I was pulling but his has WAY better aerodynamics, and he got a best of 9 mpg over the exact same terrain where I was getting 12.5 with my 6.2. His didn't seem to lack much in the way of pulling power to pull that trailer but the mileage cost him almost a full tank of fuel more than me over the same distance towed. No thanks, I'll keep my 6.2.

A guy I work with has owned them all, and he claims time and time again that Chevy gets the best gas mileage while towing.
