Don't mind Boss 302, he's like an old dog, the more you kick it, the more it keeps coming back. EB needs to spool up boost to do anything. Im not surprised you beat it.

I have a relative that bought a EB. He is in the process of trading it to go to 6.2. He loved it for the first 8000 rounds and then the issues started. Mileage dropped off, shudder at highway speed. Loss of power and the list goes on.

Fords first fix was replacing frame bolts in the rear end...

Long story short Ford flew a engineer in to perform a round of testing the week before xmas. Since then he has had the truck on the road for 8 days!

I feel bad for the guy, new truck and can't get it outta the shop.

All makes have issues but it amazes me that Ford put the EB on the bragging pole after the run they had with the turbo diesels.

Sorry to get off topic and congrats on the lesson you gave the EB today!

There will always be a truck with an better engine.

This time it is Ford, next time it's Dodge, next time it's GM, next time it's Ford, next time it's Dodge, next time it's GM........

The engine of a truck is one reason what sells a truck. So they will built engines whitch beat the older one in power, economy and so on.

Boss, i don't think pulling 3 plus truck lengths and still pulling is barley winning, especially when I gave him him a jump. I could complain he was an extended cab with 17s, and i am a crew with 20s and a passenger but I dont care. I am also not bench racing on paper and comparing numbers on how a truck"should" perform. I could as give two shx&s about displacement, comparisons. Hell my 13400cc busa makes 500hp, technology is your friend. I am not bashing the truck, I respect its capabilities hence why I wanted the comparison. With that said I would love to race an ecoboost again, and will but it will be an arranged meeting with videos.

He will just tell you the videos are rigged, or the guy driving the Ecoboost can't drive, or hook a trailer to it and race, or compare the torque curves on paper, or big deal your motor has twice the displacement when the Ford IS NOT NATURALLY ASPIRATED, or point out any issue GM trucks have EVER had large or small, or that we are fanboys for liking GM, or that GMT 900's are total crap, or when Ecoboosts have reported problems he says the article is biased, or that every first year model has issues....

I would like to argue that the sky is blue, I'm sure he has some BS to throw toward that statement too. EVERY TOPIC I open it seems has been ruined by this guy.

To the OP, congrats on the kill and keep them coming.

Ooooh, yeah, with nearly 2x the displacement, he barely beat it on the highway, where gearing likely played a bigger role than anything else.

Ok, take the turbo's off ... and then we'll see if nearly 1/2 the displacement wins? What a stupid Stupid argument. That almost made me throw up laughing.

I say it's pretty sad that a boosted truck still can't beat a natural aspirated v8.

good ol' chevy performance right there. :)

Boss 302, your missing the point, he beat the ford. I know this makes you mad, but you just have to accept the GM was better than the Ford today.

And FYI, I am not a fan of the EB, I'd take the 5.0....and even the GM 6.2L over it anyday. But I am not a fanboy Ford hater and can give credit where it is due. The EB is impressive for what it is. Just the fact that a 6.2L owner is gloating over beating it proves that.

because of the twin turbos the actual displacement is more than 3.5 liters- theyre probably closer to the same displacement when under load depending on what the boost is.

but thats the point of the turbos. they give you big displacement v8 power when you need it, but small displacement fuel economy when you dont.

in the end though this was a for fun test between a tuned 6.2 and a presumably stock ecoboost. and as for me give me a v8 any day- i can turbo/supercharge that instead and have even more power.

Even my wife with NO mechanical ability what so ever will tell you V8 is the way to go...case in point she DEMANDED the V8 when she bought her Commander 5 years ago.

V6's have their place in this world, just not in the V8's place!

Wow, your wife needs to have a chat with my wife and enlighten her!

Give me an EB in a Mustang(well not a Mustang, not a fan of the look) and it would be a lot of fun, but keep it out of a truck, no place for turbo V-6s in trucks, any trucks. Keep that in mind GM!
