I hear it occasionally, but mainly when just sitting and idling for a bit, and only from the outside

I don't think I have ever herd my fan from inside the truck unless the radio was off and the windows down. Now from out side the truck I hear it all the time in the summer.

Regardless of ambient temperature or HVAC setting (including off), mine will always come on as I'm backing in to the garage. Temp gauge reads normal, so I'm not quite wrapping my head around why this occurs yet.

I hear fan on my mustang come on and off quite often . My truck temp stays slightly below 210 and I never hear the fans even when stopped and idling. Even opened hood idling and fans still not on.Of coarse they come on when a/c is on. I've been a little concerned if my low fan speed was working correctly

my clutch fan(not electronic like newer trucks) will kick on randomly sometimes when i start it cold....in the summer it runs alot because of a/c and the fact that its hot outside...

I've got an older truck and a 2500 but mine comes on every morning after letting it idle for about 5-10 minutes before I go to work, winter or summer. It usually turns off within the first quarter mile. It seldom comes on while driving, even when towing, It comes on occasionally while the plow is on, but only when I drive up the mountain.
