what did they give ya for your '10??

I'm about ready to pull the triger on one myself!!

Dealer gave me 30k for my 2010 GMC crewcab SLT 4x4 w/6.2 in VG to excellent cond.

For reference, Kelly blue book lists it as 28,250 trade-in value in excellent condition.

At least you saved yourself some money keeping your accessories. A lot of people let them go with the truck. Good thinking on your part there!

If you don't mind me asking, what tint did you get to match the factory tint on your windows? Want to get my front ones done on my Silverado, not really sure what % would match though.

I have had 18% applied to my last three GM crew cab trucks to match the factory rear window tint.

I believe they used Lumar brand if that helps any.

Congratulations! Did virtually the same thing 4 days ago. Traded 2010 Taupe LTZ 6.2 2wd for Sierra SLT 4wd Dmax. From the outside our trucks are almost identical with the exception of 6" step-rail on mine.

Trying to break it in so we can get our 30' TT home. Will be interesting to see the difference between the two.

Congrats on the new truck love,love,love that colour combo!!!! My 5.3L is awesome and no AFM issues and it moves when you want it too. I just wish i got a GMC, love that look!

I am not trying to hate here. Why did you trade up 2 years for better gas mileage? Then turn around and start buying more stuff for your new truck? 6.2 gets 12-13 mpg while the 5.3 gets 15-16 is 2 more years of your life worth 63 extra miles at the pump? which is a savings of 14 bucks and some change. I understand it took your payment down but its still a truck payment which could be I'm assuming 60 months at 550 or so dollars ( estimate )

which is 13,200 dollars more you'll have to pay over the next 2 years you added on to save 14 dollars at the pump.

Why so worried about it? He is paying for it, it's what he wanted to do....Don't understand why people get upset because someone else does what they want with their money. If it wasn't worth it to him, he would still have to 2010 truck.

Congrats on the 2 year newer truck I think what wordicp was confused about that "wanted to get back to the real world and get better gas mileage" or something like that I could be miss quoting you . Then Wordicp figure out that this cost you a lot more to save a bit of gas mileage for just a two year newer vehicle.

Also to some people 2 years is not along time .

Congrats on a two year newer truck its a nice color just if the main reason was to save money then it was the wrong move according to wordicp.

i moved from 2011 5.3 to 2011 6.2. You will miss the 6.2. LOL!

Nfab steps will look great on that truck. Love the color!

Why did you trade up 2 years for better gas mileage? Because I felt like it at the time. The difference for me is around +3 MPG. Then turn around and start buying more stuff for your new truck? I as most others here end up buying "stuff" for our new trucks. I recycle some from other trucks but also buy some new. 6.2 gets 12-13 mpg while the 5.3 gets 15-16 My 2010 6.2 averaged 13.5 mixed city/hwy over 20 months. The new 2012 5.3 has averaged 17.2 mixed over the first two tanks. While not a big difference, it is some. is 2 more years of your life worth 63 extra miles at the pump? which is a savings of 14 bucks and some change. Don't know really, didn't think to hard about it honestly. If I keep this truck, I will probably have it paid off in 4 years anyways. And if I don't, I will move on. Did I need a new truck? No. Did I need the last 10 trucks I purchased? Not at all. So why did I buy new truck? Because I wanted to try and save a few bucks on gas, and a new truck is never a bad thing.
