Traded the '10 for a '12

I decided with all the incentives and 0% financing with GMC right now, that I would check out what my dealership had to offer last Thursday.

 

I bought my 2010 with the notion that I "needed / wanted" a 6.2L engine. Well, It was definitely everything it was supposed be! I loved it. But I decided that after 20 months of having my fun with it , that I needed to get back to the real world of the 5.3 and better gas mileage.

 

 

I traded the 6.2L SLT 4x4 for a 2012 SLE Z71 w/ the 5.3L. I have owned three SLT's, but I am really digging the bench seat in the SLE. Same seats with more leg room.

 

New truck stickered for 40,300. I ended up paying 28,000 after all the incentives and trade equity in my 2010. Dropped my payment by 150.00 a month.

 

 

 

Ended up going with another crew cab, but in Mocha Steel w/ cashmere leather. Last three were black, wanted something different.

 

 

 

Getting the windows tinted this week, and ordering some N-Fab cab length steps. No plans at this time to add a level kit or lift.

Truck looks nice and the area you live in looks nice to . With the nice green trees and lawn and blue sky. I agree with kstruckcountry the interior is nice color.

I'd only get the 6.2 if I was towing all the time. I'm rather impressed with the 5.3L/6 speed combo, although that's coming from a guy who was stuck with a 2.2L 4 cylinder for 7 years.

 

...and nice truck btw. That color is growing on me the more I look at it.

Looks good BUT..........you are the first person I have heard basically downgrade (trade from 6.3 to 5.3). Hopefully you like it and won't have any AFM issues. Every time I drive my truck I wish I got a 6.2L. Even though the AFM is tuned out it feels weaker than it should. Got spoiled using my dad's V-Max for 2 weeks. Man I wish I got the 6.2, won't make that mistake again.

Looks nice. I just went from a 2004 Sierra 2500HD to a 2007 Sierra 1500 with the 5.3. Yeah the 12mpg was killing me.

I love the bench seat in the SLE. I drive my dad's yukon sometimes and i know the interior in the SLT has the same console and the extra room is so nice

Not to worried about missing the 6.2L. As stated it was fun while I had it, loved the power, but I never "used" it other than to mess with young kids driving their 4 cyl ricers on the interstate.

 

I had a 2007 w/ the 5.3 AFM for two years and 40k miles with not a single issue. I am not really worried about the AFM, and if it does give me problems, it has the factory 5 yr 100k warranty.

 

I am loving this new truck so far, just got my windows tinted today. As well as ordered my N-Fab steps and Husky molded flaps. I already have a Trifecta bed cover in storage from my 2010.

 

Oh, and I have already installed factory rear wheel well liners. Just not shown in the pic below.
