adding sirius/xm to 2012 silverado

hello,i want to add satellite radio to my 2012 Silverado 2500 Hd . it has the US8 radio that has the cat button. is there a way to add it like the factory type? is the truck wired for it? thanks,Ray

hello, no i'm sure it didn't come with the satellite radio. when i ordered it you had to get onstar,and i didn't want that,but i got the radio that is ready for satellite.

you can buy an xm upgrade kit for the truck, at least you could for the 1500's

yes , thanks i saw that kit. just emailed them. looks like i need to have the onstar. probably for the shark fin antenna on the roof and maybe a harness that would run down to the radio or something. i have to see what they say. i know the radio is compatable.
