Trailer plug re-location

After backing into a partially melted snow bank a few weeks ago, I bent the bracket that has the trailer plug on it. Has anyone ever relocated this up onto the bumper just left of the license plate. I have seen this on other trucks as the standard location. Haven't crawled up under my truck yet to see if there is anything in the way. Just wondering if anyone else has relocated this to avoid this problem. I am planning on taking my hitch off some time this summer anyways and repainting it anyways, Thought that would be a prime time to look at relocation options. Any ideas??

Thanks

There should not be anyting in the way of doing that. When you make a hole for it, be sure to start out small. Don't try to make it perfect the first time. Chances are you will make it to big and ruin the bumper. Use a hole-saw smaller than the plug itself and you should be good.
