Ill be deployed this month till about the beginning of September, Should I unhook the battery cable or will it still be good when I get back? Trucks an 06 chevy silverado, battery was replaced about a year ago.

I let my truck sit for 4 months every year when I am on sea. It starts up just fine. If your worried about it tho . It takes like 2 mins or less to take the black cable off. What does fuel stabilzer do ?

Fuel stabilizer will keep your fuel fresh while it's sitting in the gas tank, usually for up to about a year. Basically extend the life of your fuel and keep it "fresh".

I usually use SeaFoam in mine, works pretty good and keeps everythign clean.

I second the fuel stabilizer. Pour some in the tank and make sure you run it so the stabilizer gets sucked up'd into the injectors. I've deployed 3 times, let my truck sit all three times with no problems. Good luck to you. Thanks for your service.

Just park the truck, its only going to sit for 5 months hell trucks on the dealer lots sit for longer then that. There will be nothing wrong with the gas when you return fuel stabilizer will be just a waste as the fuel wont go bad in that short of a time it takes fuel a long long time to go bad. I have used fuel that been in my shed for over 1 and a half years and it was still good.

I was thinking the same thing . In diessel egines at least on ships the fuel will sit in the the tanks for like 9 months if the season is only 3 months of the year.
