12v air compressor

Not exactly a tire question.......

About to leave on a month long trip, pulling a travel trailer from BC, Canada to Denver and back. We currently have a portable 12v air compressor for inflating tires, that makes an incredible racket when turned on. As some of the RV parks we stay at are quite a distance from a gas station, I am looking for advice on a reasonable quality/price, quiet 12v compressor that I can use, if necessary, to top up trailer and truck tires before leaving the park (and heating up the tires), that is quiet enough to not p***s off the neighbours.

Not even sure if those qualities are compatible in one machine but, anyone have experience with such a machine that they can recommend?

If your talking about one quiet enough to use at night and not make a fellow camper mad, good luck. Campsites usually pack them in tight. My craftsman is pretty quiet.

Some times just a bike hand pump/foot pump might be just enough to keep the pressure up .

I use a noisy little compressor with a tank. Fill the tank up inside the trailer and bring the unit out and fill tires. If more air is needed repeat.

If you use just a portable air tank that you can fill at a station would be enough as well to keep the pressure before driving.

I picked up a 5 gal portable tank from Harbor Freight that I keep in the bed of my truck. It has a max PSI of 125. They also make a 7 gal tank that might be better for you with the truck and trailer tires. I just have to worry about my truck tires so i went with the 5 gal.

It seems that they now have an 11 gal air tank too.
