GOOFY SMELL

When i push my car somewhat hard, then leave it (as in turn it off and go inside my house) i notice a smell that concerns me. I assume its the tranny, but why does it make this smell? Is here anything to be concerned about? Thanks.

Do you have any oil or fluid leaks that may be leaking onto the exhaust manifolds or exhaust?

Does it smell like a metal burning?

If so, could be that you're running too lean and really getting the cats hot. THe reason I ask this is because you said you run it hard, which I would presume would mean wide open throttle where the system tends to lean itself out a little anyway.

hey...GOOFY IS A GOOD WORD.

It sorta smells like metal. i cant really describe where's its coming from, cuz when i sniff around the car i dont smell it from one place, just all around. There are no leaks or anything like that. Yes, i only notice this smell at WOT.

Do you ever ride in mud? or on a dirt road? If so it could be mud burning off of your exhausts. It might only get hot enough at WOT to burn the mud.

Is your Hoe new? If so, it could just be the smell from the paper labels and stuff burning off. I noticed this on test drives (during the spring when it wasn't windy or cold out) before I bought my Yuk from the factory, and I noticed it for the first few weeks or a month after I got my Yuk. It's just the engine, exhaust etc. breaking in from new.

My buddy who's a car salesman said this is common with new vehicles. Could that be it?
