Transfer case or Transmission?

Between first and second gear it makes a sound similar to when you are engaging four wheel drive. Seems to go away as the truck warms up. Anyone have any issues with this?

Mine makes noise on the 1-2 shift also after braking and then accelerating but only if I don't come to a full stop. If I come to a full stop, it makes noise as I take off, u-joints were replaced and I was told that it was the slip yoke binding and releasing. When the u-joints were replaced they greased the slip yoke and it alleviated the noise for awhile but eventually comes back. I have learned to live with it, annoying as hell though, I was told it doesn't cause any damage.

If this seems to get worse, please do not hesistate to contact me as well and I can look into this for you on my end. Be sure to include the last eight of your VIN for more assistance. Thank you.

Sounds like normal operation to me. Both this and my last truck have done this. I've got over 150K miles between both vehicles and never got worse or cause any difficulties with either. That and I went to both dealer and independent shop to verify that this is normal and harmless. Just my opinion, based only on my personal experience.
