"Engine Power is Reduced" in DIC

So I had my truck out on the road all day yesterday and my wife and I stopped at a local coffe shop. When I got in the truck and started it up the DIC started dinging, and Check engine light came on followed by a message in the DIC that said "Engine Power Reduced" I thought at first it was because it was retarded hot out but then I tried driving the truck and it ran like shit. Full throttle in drive netted like 5 miles an hour. I pulled over and shut the truck off for like 5 minutes and then restarted it. The check engine light came back on but no message in the DIC and the truck ran fine. I drove it right to the dealer and am currently waiting on a diagnosis.

Any Ideas?

Yea they got it in the shop at the end of the day so I have t heard anything yet. Just wondering what this could possibly be and if it is a powertrain warranty item or if I am going to be raped at the cashiers office.

its to do with the fly by wire system,,you didnt ask first ,the throttle body is bolted to the engine ,it should be covered ,i could be wrong but you should ask ,either way it needs to be diagnosed

Dealer says it has something to do with the Accelerator Pedal Position Code. Did some research and there are two TSB out for this issue 07-06-04-19A and PIP3783B. According to my research this is a power train warranty item.

Dealer says that they cleared the code and are trying to duplicate the problem. My next question, how to I tell them to look at these TSB items without offending anyone? My normal attitude would be EF them if they can't figure it out I will do if for them, but I am trying this new zen thing to keep my blood pressure low. I have a feeling that they are going to call me back and say that there is nothing wrong cause they can't duplicate the problem.

yea, sorry I didn't update this, it has been a busy week...

Anyway, as stated above when the tech ran the code the TSB's came up (they told me this without asking) and they followed the repairs under those TSB's which essentially was to check a couple modules and some wiring to make sure there was no damage. The problem is that there were no issues in the areas they were told to look and they can not figure out why it happened and cannot reproduce it. To this day, (knock on wood) it has not done it again.

I am only hoping that since the issue was documented while I am in warranty that the same issue would be covered at the end of the year when I am out of warranty. IDK...
