Only one radiator shop left around here that hasnt been forced to shut the doors because of the economy...They have been here for many years though...Anyway he said if I take the radiator out and drop it by he would replace the left tank at $115....He siad if he takes it out with the part and labor its $200....Hell like I said I can order the entire Delphi unit off of Amazon for 100 bucks...Just doesnt make sense to pay him to replace that plastic part on one side for more than a new entire unit would cost and im doing all the work taking it out anyways...

He said its the inlet tank plus the gasket and he claimed its not something I could do myself if I were to just buy the tank and gasket??

Inlet tank is 69.00 from Rock Auto plus 37.00 for the tank gasket...Thats more than a whole new assembly...

I want to change all of the hoses also. Can someone please tell me everyone that I will need to pick up or what each one is called so I can make sure I pick up everyone there is when I purchase?

Whats the process of checking the fan clutch for correct operation?

Basically, get the truck up to good operating temperature. Stop and sit for about 10 minutes (engine on). Open the hood and look at the fan and make sure it's really moving. Feel the air and make sure there is a lot of air moving through there. Also, after sitting, when you start driving again, you should hear the fan roaring for the couple of hundred feet or so of movement. That's the way mine works anyway.

You'll need the hoses to and from overflow tank, upper and lower radiator hoses, both heater hoses, there's a few hoses going to the water pump, and a couple of hoses to and from the throttle body. That's all I can come up with off hand. I'm sure somebody will mention if I missed any.

Edit: On second thought, I think there's only one hose to the overflow tank.

Be sure to change out the thermostat and overflow tank cap while you're at it.

Yeah I looked it up...Horrible reviews on those things...I went ahead and just ordered the Delphi from RockAuto..Can hardly beat their prices especially with the coupon codes avaliable...Same day shipping and have their products in two days..Advance Auto had the best deal on the fan clutch though so I will replace that at the same time and see if that helps my higher temps ive been having..Again thanks for all of your help!!
