Hail Damage :(

In the US rates do not usually go up if a accidnet was not involved, atleast my recent claim did not affect my rates. Earlier this year my 2008 mazda burnt down and my rates did not go up. I still have my free accident forgiveness for no accident claim in X amount of time, but i live in FL for the time being (ins laws vary from state to state), and have my ins with USAA as I am active duty

I'll add some pictures of my hail damage. Adjuster sent me a check for $12,000.00 and that does not include replacing the roof if they can't get them out with the paintless repairs!!! My Retrax is also getting replaced not a single panel broke thru but everyone of them is dented! :jester:0142.jpg0162.jpg0053.jpg

The only good thing I see coming out of this is I talked to the body shop and they are checking to see if I can get the 1500 hood and get away from that big plastic useless hood thingy and get a plain hood fot it. Also I may get to keep my Retrax that is 6 months old and resell it. :jester:

I do not believe my insurance will go up since it was a 100% not my fault accident. I'm sure they will find a way to cover the cost from this storm by either not lowering the insurance again next year or by slightly increasing it. We shall see when renewal time comes around.

Jim, those do look like miniature meteors!

I'm hoping they replaced my Retrax with a Retrax Pro but it's a long shot.

Bad news... called the body shop and they won't be done until Tuesday if they put the truck back together properly. If they rush it, they may be done tomorrow afternoon... Unfortunate part is that I have to return the rental truck tomorrow which means I am out a vehicle for the weekend and the start of the work week until mine is ready... :banghead:

nah, that is about the 50th time it all has been through a bad storm. I am on my third grill now. Last year a storm lifted up our glass table and dropped it on the deck that was a PITA oto clean up. I have the grille strapped to the deck so it stays put. NW Indiana has some bad lake effect storms (lived up there 25 yrs) but I will tell you the storms through central indiana are downright scary (going on 8 yrs down here). The house behind me just got a new roof this past week :( My next door neighbor is having his done soon and that was before this storm.

Here is my brothers car out in it, he lives a town over from me.

Bad news for me, the 1500 hood will not fit the 2500!! The bottom of the 1500 hood hits on the raditor support. The body shop guys tried to put it on but then they saw the problem. Oh well on to the next problem. :jester:

Lucky enough to have a pretty mild year here, no rain= no hail. :dunno: Also not much farm work.

Interested to see what this winter will bring. I'm feeling like we're due for a blizzard here.

So i got my truck back last Thursday. It was a chilly morning so it was covered in dew and the carpets weren't completely dry from them shampooing them the night before. The overall appearance looked great. Looked pretty much back to normal. When I finally got back to work and let it dry out I went back and looked at it. The A pillar covers were not put back on properly and were half hanging on. I was able to push them back on properly so they stick. Everything looked good until I got home and did a better detailing job on the inside and the glass.

I noticed they left some swirl marks on my headlight. The manager told me they had to redo the paint job since he wasn't happy with how it turned out so I can assume when sanding it the first or second time they swirled over the headlight.

Multiple locations of overspray that should have been caught. A nice blob on my side turn indicator, hazed from side view mirror and other pieces of glass with some haze on them.

They didn't put the headliner back in properly or fully cleaned. The passenger side handle wasn't secured properly and they forgot to put the plugs back in at the rear.

Somehow, someone forgot to check the way the door locks work and installed it backwards. When I click unlock, the switch shows locked. The courtesy light on my door also doesn't work.

They moved my remote start antenna to somewhere behind my dash so I am not limited on my signal range to less than 100 feet where as before it was 1 mile line of sight. I can barely start it from 1 block away.

I sent my email off this morning so I will see what they respond with...
