Bedrail Caps

So I finally got the truck back last nite from getting that damned "Deer Dent" removed....and it looks good as new. Figure now is the time to put on the bed rail caps I have been planning since new!

So anyone have any experience with these one's?

I am thinking those MIGHT look funny with my not quite black Carbon Black Mettallic. It's those or OEM, but was thinking the aluminum one's might be a bit tougher.

Thanks!

-OH also anyone know where to get a worktruck grille and hood piece? Thinking of going with that for the grille instead of the chrome.

I have the DeeZee bright ones on my truck now. Good fit and they're clear coated so they stay looking good.

I have a set of those, they're nice, but don't mess up the instalation. Put a peice of double sided tape on the outside lip to keep if from lifting up, and make sure the inside is flush when you tape it down, otherwise it'll peel up over time and drive you nuts... I got them on amazon for my 07 (900 platform i think... same body style as the 08;s) for around 80/90 dollars.

They say they are heavy gauge aluminum. How can they peel up? Aren't they solid? From the description they sound like they are solid, and lead me to believe they are not bendable easily by hand. Price is not far off the OEM caps, may even be cheaper. If they came in something other than diamond plate, I would take a serious look at them.

Actually I just bought some oem ones, that's exactly what I paid for them, should have done more searching o well, those look nice.

I have the oem ones. Installed them myself. No issues with them coming off/moving around. If I had to do it again. I would look for something else. I see other ones and like the appearance more than oem. Also, not sure how they would hold up under heavy abuse

Well scratch that. Saw the truck in the sun today, it's 2 f****** different colours. Guess going to have to bring it back. How much of a hassle with insurance am I going to have to get into to get them to paint the whole truck?????

theyre solid, but if you bolt the inner part down too far then the tape inside them acts as a pivot point and it pushes the outsides up, they dont dent, but they dont sit flush, if that makes more sense

I like these better:

http://www.bushwacke...RailCap_GMC.asp

They are hard plastic and wrap a little further down the sides. They come in smooth, diamond-tread, or raised ridges. I had brite-tread aluminum ones on my '94 and when they wore out I replaced them with the "DiamondBack" ones from Bushwacker. That was almost 10 years ago and they are still holding up well (and I drag stuff across them, walk on them, etc. all the time).

I have the Bushwackers as well. Got a set a few years ago that warped from sitting in the sun, I believe because I put them n in the winter, and installed my cover over them. Then with the sun beating down on the driver's side, it got a few good waves in it.

Called Bushwacker, and they sent me a new set. This time, the 3M tape runs the length of the cover, not across it. So far, so good.

Like I mentioned before I just bought the oem ones from a dealership and well I like them, but how well do they hold up, what's y'all's take on them?
