Whiter Daytime Running Lights?

I'd like to replace the DRL bulbs on my 2010 Silverado with something that is "whiter" than stock. From what I've read, LED's aren't a viable replacemnt for the NBS DRL's because they are also the low beam headlight.

I've read that the Silverstars have durability issues and I'm not intersted in converting to HID's.

Has anyone found durable bulbs for the daytime running lights that burn whiter than stock?

TIA.

The drls that I have are blue coated.and.fairly bright but why do you want really bright ones?

Actually the Silverstars would be your best bet. The general rule of thumb goes the whiter the light/the higher the bulb temperature/ the shorter the bulb life, let alone if you touch the bulb with your hands while replacing it. Honestly, I've replaced the stock bulbs in all my vehicles with Silverstars whenever I got them and the bulb life isn't that bad (I might have to change them every 1 1/2-2 years).

You don't have DRL bulbs in your Silverado, the 900-series trucks use the low beam bulbs at reduced power.

I just replaced them with H11 Silverstar Ultras. We'll see what kind of life I can get out of them. I wore gloves while handling the bulbs.

Incidentally, removal/installation was really a no-brainer. I was able to replace the drivers-side bulb in about one minute. No need to remove anything.

The pax side took about five minutes. Four screws to remove the airbox cover, one hose clamp to loosen and a slight tug to remove the bottom half of the airbox. That's all that was necessary.

Based on reading some of the previously posted info, one could get the notion it's easier to replace a transmission than a headlight.

If you think the passenger side changeout was bad, when my wife had her Buick Lucerne, we had to take it to the dealership to get the front bumper removed to pull out the headlamp unit just to get to the bulbs. Just another way for GM to get money out of the consumer

I replaced my stock H13 bulbs with the SilverStar ZxE, they use the same wattage as the stock units, and put out 4200K lumes. They are definetly a whiter light than the ultras.

I purchased them through Amazon at a very reasonable price.
