usually tint lawas are for law enforcement protection (so they can see in the vehicle easier)

then i wish there was rule that said you had to roll down your front windows when stopped. There is no regualtion on back glass on SUVs in SC

Where in Columbia did you get the ticket so I can avoid that area lol.

It was Cayce police right off of Knox Abbott.

Maybe if you talk to him and show him you complied he will not go to court to "fight it" and the ticket will be thrown out... He can't removed the ticket from the systems but there are loop holes to get out of it.

I believe the Iowa enforcement is also an equipment violation, or "fix it" ticket. If you send in the paperwork saying the issue is fixed there isn't a penalty. I do have the D.O.T. form, picked up at the DMV and filled out by my doctor. It may get you out of the ticket, but it sure doesn't stop them from pulling you over. I also think that it's only good down to 35%. Haven't tinted the new truck yet, just because everytime they stop you it's about 15 or 20 minutes of your life that you'll never get back, whether they write you or not. The windshield I think can be tinted down to the little line with an arrow that says "a(arrow)s1" without penalty. I miss Vegas, because of the sun/heat, their was no law against tint...at least not from '87 - '92.

Having a windshield tinted is just asking for a ticket. One of the worse things is walking up on a vehicle with dark tint on a traffic stop and not being able to see inside the vehicle, you dont know if someone inside has a weapon pointed at you throught the window waiting to blow you away. Why do you think they always shine the side spot light at the driverside side mirror at night, so it lights up the inside of the vehicle.

Every state in the U.S has a tint law now but a few will not allow any tint to the drivers and passenger side fronts.
