There are 2 impact sensors up front on the bottom of the radiator support. the diagnostic module is also a sensor. (I would think it would be the least likely to go out) To unplug the ones on the radiator support pull the orange retainer clip out and then unplug the yellow connector (After the battery is disconnected) If memory serves me well they are held on with inverted torx bolts. (Loosen then a little and slide the sensor to remove)

Hi,

There are 2 front impact sensors. They are bolted to the bottom of the rad support. Easy to change. Parts available on Ebay for 35 to 40 dollars. No need to pay the dealership. Parts and labour are 300 dollars for each side, so 600 dollars for both in Canada. I don't think so. Disconnect the battery and replace yourself. 15 minutes each side.

This issue is caused by corrosion between the steel bolt and alum bushing thru the centre of the sensor. I have reported issue to GM and filed a complaint with Transport Canada and asked for a recall investigation. GMC has declined to do anything at this point.

These sensors fail about every 2 years in Canada due to salt use on the roads. The corrosion cracks the sensors. Needs a protective cover to keep out of the salty water.

Still the best truck on the market, as far as I am concerned.
