I know about a year or so ago I put this same topic up, but since then we have grown exponetially and it was fun before so here goes...

I took and passed my drivers test three days after my 16th birthday in a :

1978 4-door, 4-speed, Chevy Chevette !!!

1972 three speed manual, on the column, full size Chevy van.

The tester wouldn't even let me out of the parking lot until I showed him I could parallel park it.

Well, I passed the test in drivers ed in a Chevy Malibu.

When I went to the driver's facility it was possible that I'd be spot checked, so I made sure we took a vehicle I was most familiar with, the '96 K3500.   :flag:

Oh, and the year.  1997?  Yeah, thats right.  Getting your license was an excused absence in my HS, so Dad and I took off after my sister got on the bus and we made a morning of it.

I took mine last year, but I'm wondering why I didn't take a driving test in a vehicle, is that dependant on what state your in or what.  I'm in Texas.

I did mine in a 1996 or 1997 Malibu.  Since it was a high school course, driving took about an hour: we drove up to the juvenile detention center and back.  Parallel parking was in-between two cones about 50 feet apart.  Easy.  Then I took a certificate to the MVD and they gave me my license.....

I wish I still had my scanner cause you guys gotta see my picture...talk about a bad picture.  I was wearing a hat and my hair looks like that guys hair from Kid n Play....Like a column straight up.

Goofy s*%t

Must've been Dad's 88 Olds Ciera...great car till the tranny started on the way out at 160k back in 96.  Thing road like new till the end and was much better than the 96 Ciera it was replaced with.

If I remember right, the first time it was a '86 Celebrity. The second time it was a '96 Lumina. And the third time it was a '90 Cavalier. I passed on the third and final try. Oh, yeah that was in '97.

heck yea i couldnt get an appt so i had to go a few towns over to their license bureau and they took the first 15.  Got there at 5am and i was #2 in line.  The lady who was first failed.  I passed with flying colors.  Very easy and no pressure at all.  I did miss school that day  :flag: but it was worth it.  Also i took mine in 1997 i think and the vehicle was an 87 2wd 2 door blazer
