2006 Z/51 ???

I've got a 2006 Silverado Z/71 K1500 E/C....my sisters boyfriend from Maine sez that he has also has a 2006 Silverado K1500 E/C...but his is a Z/51, and the Rear Doors (E/C) open all the way against the bed.....I told him it sounds like a 2007 (NBS)....he claims no...it's a 2006, and it also has a 350 under the hood.....what gives ???.....I've only seen 1 Z/51, and it was an Avalanche with Canadian plates.....what is a Z/51....and what is it that he has ???.

There are probably a half dozen suspension options, all begin with Z. There just might not be a sticker on the side of the bed. The doors didn't open fully till the 900 series trucks and GM dumped the 350 when the 800 series came out in 1999 so I think they're misinformed. There is nothing special about Canadian trucks compared to US ones.

I've had a similar experience with an older gentleman one day. He claimed that his GMT 900 had a 327 cid engine just like the old small blocks of the 60's and 70's. I tried to tell him it was a whole different engine and that 5.3 liters was actually a little less than 327 cid. He wouldn't listen to me so I just let him believe what he wanted.

Yup the 350 was the 5.7.
