Engine Power is Reduced?

So, I was leaving my gfs house around 11:15 after the Washington & Dallas game....I was literally 4 mins away from my house & as soon I passed the railroad tracks, my engine just bogged down & it said "Engine Power is Reduced" Lost my Power Steering & tried to pull off to the next area that I could....Once it came to a stop, I put it in Park...turned the key off & tried to turn it back on....nothing happened....wouldn't even turn over.

So I waited 5 mins & tried it again & it started, everything was Normal once it started back. The engine light is on, though. At my gfs I started to warm my truck up for about 15 mins, like I usually do, bc it was 30F degrees. Has about 149,XXX miles on it. '07 Silverado 5.3....See the rest in my sig.

But just wonder whats wrong with it, bad gas possibly? Not the battery its only 6 months old.

You have to have it scanned.

Or...

Try removing the negative battery terminal for a few minutes might be a freak thing. The code will come back if it has a problem.

that message is a default from the code (engine light on ) to let the veh owner why the truck is running like a POS,

see your owners manual for info on DIC messages

Really 100 views? No replies?

Thanks. Bump!

I was one of your views, but I don't have a legitimate answer and didn't want to act like I did. Good luck.

I just got a letter from Chevy about this. You need to take it in.

Sounds like the alternator went.. Did you notice anything getting dim just before it died?

Well, I found the problem it was throwing the code P2101, which does Involve the Throttle Body Actuator.

So I went ahead & ordered the part. Should be arrive tomorrow at my local dealer & then gonna let em replace it.
