Should I buy it?

I found a 2006 Sierra SLT Z71 crew cab. The truck is loaded and in really good shape. It's clean and doesn't appear to have ever been abused. The only problem is it has 205000 miles on it. I can't find any leaks and it seems to run really well. It has the 5.3 vortec in it. I think I can probably get the truck for about 9000. What do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

Try and talk him lower. That's a lot of miles on a 7 yr old truck

I would talk him lower. No matter how well it's been treated, there are things you'll have to replace soon.

9K is a little to much for that truck with that many miles. Offer him 7.5k for it.

 

Ask him when the last time the fuel pump was replaced. As well as a list of what has been replaced on it in the last couple of years.

Yea that seems like a lot for a truck with that many miles on it. And see if he has had the transmission replaced or repaired, if so when.

No don't buy it these trucks don't go much past that mileage without blowing a transmission or engine, these trucks are tough but you don't know what he has done to it. Too much risk unless you have spare money for a major repair.

 

If this was a duramax it would be much different story.

Does he have any maintenance records? 100(200)K probably has major service due. If he has some records of regular maintenance besides oil changes offer 7 and see where he ends up. No records, no deal.
