What recommendations do you guys have for a cold air intake for the 5.3l V8 ?

You will hear a lot of people say get the Airaid MIT. I have a K&N but will probably change to the Volant.

blackbear did a product comparison, if you search. i myself went with stock box and airaid tube, which seems to be the best bang for the buck. there is a ridiculous amount of extra tubing on the stock tube, which is all i wanted to eliminate.

I'm planning on going with the MIT tube once I have my scanguage to see if it makes a difference. The stock box cleans better and takes in cooler air than most aftermarket ones.

I have the MIT tube on my truck and the CAI brand CAI on my camaro. Like them both

more noise.....must have picked up at least 100-125 hp!!! lol! i think there maybe a slight increase under wot, but....it just makes sense when u look at the old tube lying on the floor. i believe the test by justin showed an 8hp gain.

That's exactly what I have. I ran some data for Justin and basically no change to the tune was needed so it did t chane much

Read the blackbear review of various CAIs. None are a waste there are gains with any type

The AirAid MIT tube alone will work for you. The OEM air box does not need to be switched out. It's definately not a waste of money, the tube is well worth it. Replacing the choked out factory one makes a difference.....Just don't waste your money buying a $350-$400 kit that comes with a new air box.
