Stecky22 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Hi i have a couple questions that maybe you guys could help me with. My buddy has a 2007 GMC sierra duramax and he just put a 2.5" torsion key in it and a 2" block and he is having problems with his A arm hitting his top bump stop. I have a 2007 chevrolet silverado classic 1500 and i wanted to put a 2" torsion key and 2" blocks and have it level and i was wondering if i would have the same problem he does???? any suggestions?
ruggedlife Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Well with the design and way it pushes the suspension down yes you will more than likely hit it a few times. Cognito offers a different upper control arm to help get rid of that problem if you like. Most people don't notice that much under normal driving. Just don't over crank the keys
dirtfan21 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 My truck is cranked to .5" off level and I don't have rear blocks. Cranking mine 2.5 more inches would leave me with horrible angles. Like ruggedlife said, Cognito has UCA's that help out but your TRE's are going to be sreaming at you with close to a 3" or more crank. To answer you specific question, yes. WIth a 2" rear block and re-indexed front keys cranked level you will likely have the same exact problem your buddy does.
KMGZ400 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 i have 3" keys cranked about 2.5" maybe a little less with a stock rear end. never hits the bump stops. im installing rear AAL, just need to find the time.
