07 new body gm radio

Hello im sure this has been disscussed before so im sorry

I have a new body style silverado 07

im looking to install factory XM ill be honest and i dont want to spend

$400 on the gm kit i need the wire harness has anyone found one?

Any help would be GREAT thanks

You can use a used one in your truck but the eeprom will need to be cleared of the previous VIN # at a service centre. They charge about $35 for this service which includes bench testing. .This is the place" Instrument Sales and Service, Inc " do some googling on reflashing a eeprom in a gm XM module.

Buy the unit from Sirius... It's cheaper, easier, and it does more than the factory radio can.

Yeah than you can buy docks for multiple things I got 1 unit and use it in my house truck car and boat. It's great. Plus I can rewind it or pause it.

Can this be done without any drilling, cutting or splicing of wires? I lifetime subscription on a portable unit and wouldn't mind hooking it up in my wife's Enclave but not wanting to have to do any of that to it.

You need to have a 12v power source and if you don't want to use a cig lighter in front you'll have to splice in one behind the dash. That's what the place I went to did. I was mad they did drill my dash and hung it off the heat vent. But you can't see the hole and I ended up installing ogm1 and needed the hole for aux USB port.

 

 

I relocated it and run the wires where the dash and window meet. Looks clean with the loom
