Exhaust swap

Somewhere I read that the 2500 350 vortecs had bigger exhaust piping out of the manifold than the half ton pickups and that you could swap them directly is this worth it I'm Thinking not but maybe

not really,i say just buy shorty headers.

Not worth it. If you want more power longtube headers would help.

Yep, got some LT's on mine and notice a difference; once I get my new pcm from BBP, hoping to get it on a dyno, only thing is one I used before is gone......

I'm not looking to spend a ton of money maybe $200 if I decided to do it which might get me some shorties. What size is the exhaust coming out of the manifold?

I only spent around $670 on everything including install so I would think that's a hell of a deal!

Will shorty headers for a tbi 350 work for my vortec 350?

Yep they do. No egr connection on the drivers manifold like the Vortec ones have however if you care.

 

As shitty as the factory manifolds are your dinky 1 7/8" head pipes to the muffler are just as bad......

 

Yes the 2500 and up head pipes are 2.75" dual piping like the big block trucks. Shorties on those may actually show an improvement but long tubes are still better.
