Police Tahoe AFM

Hello, I am in the market for another Tahoe 2 or 4 wheel drive, I was next to a NBS Police Tahoe and was wondering if they had the Acive Fuel Management in them? or any performance upgrades? I am going to start keeping an eye out for the Police actions for the Tahoes I see a couple of departments have been running the Tahoes for a while.

Thank you for your time and response.

Don't buy a vehicle that was used by police or any LE agency. We hammer the crap out of them all the time. The prices may seem good but there will be hidden issues that will turn up later on.

I know our vehicles are wired properly when we get them BUT when removibg radios, lights, and the like they are just ripped apart. It would be more of a PITA trying to make everything right.

What? you don't say ;) It's like the rental car of the serve and protect world.

If you want a cheaper govt vehicle maybe find a county used one.. I know our ambulance crew, our forestry's boss n some others at the county all drive Tahoes/ Explorers and I'd think they would be in relatively decent shape.

I've seen some of my county vehicles. They are abused more than police vehicles. I think military vehicles are the worst. There was an 09 Silverado 2500 HD that I knew of. Night shift would get bored and drive around. All over the base. Sometimes by the old campground which wasn't paved

Are you considering a specific model year Ron? Good luck with your purchase and let me know if you have any questions.

General rule of thumb: Never buy anything that the owner/operator isn't responsible for (rentals, fleet vehicles, etc).

If the driver is never accountable for it breaking, they beat the living crap out of it.

Unless it's ridiculously cheap, and you just need a beater.
