Fuel pump whistle

My dad claims that on on his new to him pickup with a 454 vortec that the fuel pump started whistling today. I went to look at it and the whistle wasn't there (of course) but I checked the relay and it fit a little loose so I made it fit tighter and the prongs had a film on them so I cleaned them off. And it sounded/ran fine. Has anyone heard of a fuel pump whistling really loud? He said it didn't change with engine rpm or anything and it wasn't the usual hum of a fuel pump.

The guy he bought it from said that the fuel pump went out on him at 30,000 miles but the warranty covered it. And before it went out it whistled. The truck now has 127,000 miles on it what do you guys think?

Again a big hammer works wonders. If it ever quits hit gas tank with the key on it will usually make the pump motor start. I have done this several times. I caint tell you how many times this will work, but the first time it will work enough to get it where you can change the pump if you don't shut it off. It's easier to take bed bolts out and raise it up enough to get to top of tank than it is to drop the tank. Big Hammrrs & Vice Grips can almost fix the world if it weren't for the POLITICIANS !!!
