I have been searching around craigslist and ebay for a good set of used 285/70/17's and in my search I found a set of 295/70/17 trail grapplers for $800 which are in great shape. My question is as the topic reads, does anyone have knowledge of fitting these on a 2" torsion crank? I know for a fact 285's fit as I have several friends that have them on their HD's. Will I have trimming involved? These are going on the stock 17's which should help, plus the tires are at about 80% tread life.

Any help would be awesome!

i have 295s with a 2" level on my 1500 and have no issues. they will occasionally scrub if i pull on to a steep angle with speed but otherwise no problems

Thanks for the info mossbum, I may consider heavily consider this option. I had TG's on a truck in the past and they were great tires.

Yes they will fit, yes they will rub. Here is my friend's old 2004 with 295's. Rubbed at lock.

Be prepared for a MAJOR change in steering feel though.

I saw a gray regular cab HD on here a while back that was sitting on 295's with a t-bar crank (on stock wheels). If mossbum can run them on a 1500, I think you'll be fine...especially with the stock rims....and it will look freakin awesome :pimp:
