I have a 2008 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLT with the Navigation system in the Dash. Will I still need to run a harness to the dash from the rear tailgate? Is it a plug in or does it need to be programmed? How do you program for the camera?

Old thread I know but would love to add a back up camera. I have a 09 sierra with factory navigation. After the initial install I can reprogram my radio to accept the camera? Do I need tech 2 or mdi for this reprogram.

Hello, do you know much about 2016 Chevy truck that's got the backup camera in the tailgate??? I need to know the color codes for the factory chassis camera plug it has been accidentally cute and lost so I need to hard wire Camera..any help would be must appreciated. Thanks..

I know this thread is fairly old, however I am getting ready to do this exact tailgate handle bezel camera install, and can't help but wonder if it would be a good idea to put some primer or something on the bare metal where the holes are drilled in order to help reduce the possibility of rust developing?
