WTF Truck slipped off lift at tire shop!

Ok guys as you know in my post from the day before I've been having a vibration issue on my 2012 CC Silverado 6.2l. I was going to take it to my local dealer to get the tires balanced but could not get in for over a week, So me being inpatient I decided to take it to a local tire shop and just bite the bullet on the charge and get them balanced. About an hour and a half after I dropped it I get a phone call saying they finished the work on the truck but needed to talk to me about a different issue. So I called back and they immediately sent the phone to the manager where she proceeded to tell me that when they put the truck up on the lift it had slipped off the frame rails and caught on the running boards!!!!!!!! That's when I blew up... I left work that instant and headed to the shop. When I got there they met me at the door and started their sales talk to me. We walk back to my truck where they has sat it back down on the ground. They got luck that the GM factory oval running boards can hold the weight of the truck otherwise there would have been a ton of body damage. they told me they would take care of all cost to repair my vehicle but after they tired to get me to have them put on some crapping aftermarket boards. And THEN after all that they still had the balls enough to try to charge me for the tire balance they did.

I just now got home from the Chevy dealer here and got the quote for the damage and an inspection done on the truck to make sure that was the only thing wrong. It was $925.00 Plus Tax. When I went to pick it up the tire shop was already suppose to call and authorize them to charge all repairs to them. Well the did not, and the dealer would not release my truck to me until they did. So after about a million phone calls to every shop and manager that Tires Plus has, they called the dealer and took care of it. I have yet to personally here from anyone from their shop.

The only bright side to this whole thing was that I got to see a 2014 CC Silverado in person today at the dealer. It came while I was waiting after hours and they are not suppose to show anyone. It looked nice I love the new look but I don't like how cheap the materiels they used on it looked also for being a 4x4 it sure looked low to the ground to me. I've got pictures of my trucks damage that I will post but need to figure out how first.

Holy hell! That sucks...as long as they foot the bill for all repairs.. I would also make them pay for a loaner while yours is in the shop. Good luck!

Oh the best part is they blamed it on the factory undercoating too! It was TOO slippery

These pictures are after I bent them back down so I could get my door open, Im just so lucky to have it miss the paint and body.

Man i usually hate running boards but they saved the day this time. Curious as to what kind of lift they used and the type of pads for them to just "slip" off.

I put cars and trucks up all day. The chevy/gmc are by far the easiest with the full frame. There are locks on the slide to prevent them from slipping out but they do move a little. Chances are they didn't have an arm the whole way under and it slipped off when truck was rocking around.

Well duh. Its never their fault.

These running boards I love the look of and they did hold the entire weight of the truck so needless to say they are getting replaced with the same ones. As far as the lift not sure of the brand but I know its a newer lift and it blue with yellow arms.

What parts look cheap on new truck? Looks better quality than my get 900. Glad you got your truck fixed. These shops are Ass clowns. Always blaming it on a rust protection or something.
