Big green egg

Haven't got the plate setter yet guess I will next weekend. Cooked some ribeyes on it tonight and they came out perfect. I noticed the egg in side is notched for the plate setter they sell so I'm sure I will get that one.

I haven't used gas in years because I like smoking big cuts of meat and the smoke flavor you get from charcoal. But this pit holds heat really good and get up to 6-700 for searing really fast. Do you like that grate better than a cast iron one? Looks really heavy duty compared to what came on it.

I do like it It lets it heat up to higher tempertaures quicker you get a lot more air flow, won't clog up .its made of stainless steel.Did you register yours for the warranty ?

So you have the cooking grate or the firebox grate? I have not done my warranty yet. A guy at work wanted one too so I bought his on my ticket they gave me 10% off the total order for buy two. So I guess I have to gift him his and he register his warranty and I register mine

I've owned a Weber Smokey Mountain since 2006 and love it. I wouldn't mind a BGE, but cost and capacity scare me off. I'd also love a new 24x60 offset too, but I don't think that is in the cards either.

The capacity isn't too terrible with the ability to have multi tier racks. The bge is one of the best if not the best pit I have ever spent money on. I too wanted a huge offset but with the space I have right now this does just fine.

Did you buy a bge yet? I am looking to pick one up as well, but thinking there's some $ to be saved running down to Montana. Can anyone from Montana, Idaho, or Washington tell me what a large big green egg costs there?

If you look on bge site they list up coming eggfest. You can buy a couple hour used pit for big bucks off normally. I've never been to one but I will one day
