My SLT All Terrain Dealer and Silver Lake Experience

I prefer simply not to let the wash bay guys touch the vehicle at all. The last two new vehicles I bought (GM and Ford), it appeared they washed it with a dirty rag as the paint was scratched to hell. I polished it out myself but I'd prefer that the first hands touching the paint are my own.

When I bought my 2002 Corvette I sold the Salesman and Sales Manager that if they touched my car with a polisher I would walk away from the deal and not give them a cheque. And I told them to just leave it alone. I would wash it myself! They knew I was serious!

I've had mine for two weeks now and finally got around to detailing this past weekend. As I was drying it I noticed a small chip in the paint that I guess the dealership tried to conceal by color match painting it on the edge of the driver door. Looks like they parked it too close to another and chipped it opening the door and hitting another car. I also noticed a weird rub mark above the windshield going up toward the sunroof. Looks like rubber rubbed up against the paint. Tried a little elbow grease with soapy water and my absorber but no dice. Hope a clay bar will work. I am doing his tomorrow. I am hoping if I call my sales rep and tell him about the shotty paint fix he will be able to get it fixed better in warranty!
