Just got new 2014 Sierra - questions on aftermarket

Hey new to forum. I'm a pretty loyal GM guy, just traded in my 2008 G8 GT (fully bolted, 345whp/356tq on a stingy as hell mustang dyno - 358 on a dynojet) that I put 120,000 miles on for a new 2014 Sierra SLT crewcab w/ bose/navi/preferred summit white w/ black leather. I previously had a fully bolted 2004 GTO as well.

I have already put 2400 miles on the truck and purchased it 7-30. I drive up/down New England for work, averaging about 18 mixed city/hwy.

LOVE the truck. Have added 20% tint on front windows, got weathertech digital fit floormats all around and rain visors for the front windows, I'm also adding a flowmaster Force II catback exhaust and undercoating the truck as well - I plan on keeping it a long time.

The truck has the 18" rims which are OK, but I plan on throwing snows on those once the stock CRAP goodyear fuelmax tires are shot, and going w/ Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks and some 20" rims and an all terrain tire.

Was wondering if anybody has attempted to crack the ECM on these yet for tunes? I imagine w/ the new VVT, direct injected motors this will be slow to happen.

Does anyone else have a catback on their truck yet? I'm a little worried that it will sound like garbage in 4 cyl mode (my G8 did so I tuned it out, my dad's '07 silverado w/ magnaflow did too) and that it could drone and effect bluetooth function, but the overall quietness of the cabin may makeup for it I hope.

I thought about waiting on the 6.2 motor, but w/ miles continually racking up on the G8 and a great trade in offer ($12,000) I couldn't resist. Also, coming from my G8 and GTO - no big draw to go after the bigger motor since no matter what these trucks are incredibly slow in comparison to a 4 door muscle sedan turning out 12.7 1/4's on street tires.... LOL!

I read a lot about these tunes and ECM stuff that people do to their new trucks. I can't believe this doesn't this void your warranty ?

It really depends on the dealer, but for the most part unless you're A) drag racing/road racing on a daily/weekly basis, or B) pushing the trailering/hauling abilities to the limit on a regular basis you won't have any failures as a result of said tuning so they can't void the warranty if they can't prove the mod caused the failure. Case in point - my G8 came down w/ a harsh/flare 2-3 shift - this was a common problem that reared its head more often after tuning the car, but the dealer still performed the TSB under the powertrain warranty. A custom dyno tune on an LSx based motor for the TCM/ECM can transform a vehicle, for the better, hence the popularity. There's alot of untapped potential from the factory floor.

Lingenfelter and Livernois have tuned them already. HP Tuners and EFI Live work with the new ECU.
