Anyone replaced the O2 sensors yet (2010+)

So what is the trick since the GM engineers decided to put the sensors in a place that not only can you not get wrenches near them, I couldnt even get an actual O2 socket on them either.

Is dropping the front of the exhaust the only way to get enough room to reach the sensors?

I didnt think they were, dealership last time told me they are considered a consumeable like brake pads.

I haven't had to do mine yet but if a sensor socket won't fit I'd try a brake line crow's foot wrench for max contact.

Mike problem is you dont have enough room to manipulate the crows foot once you get it on.

I'll see what all data says tonight if I remember.

It can be done with a simple open end wrench, if I am replacing them I cut the harness off and use the closed end of the wrench. You do not get a lot of room to move but it can be done about 1/8 turn at a time

that's :bs: so why do you have to replace the O2's on a 3 year old vehicle?

Truck has almost 70,000 miles on it and is getting really crappy gas mileage. I replaced the spark plugs and planned on replacing the O2 sensors next as they were cheap to get for the factory ones.

what kind of gas you using? cheep crap, or the good stuff? most states now have E10 only, but some are sneaking in E15+ instead of E10. more profits per gal..

what kind of MPG have you lost..

Not quite. I've only seen E15 a couple times and it was cheaper than E10. Slightly but probably enough to offset it. I only average like 10 MPG or so on E85 but because its that or premium I still come out ahead when you calculate cost per mile vs premium.

I only run 100% gas and usually 89 and now 91 since I got the tune from Justin. Truck has always got crappy gas mileage, I don't think the previous owner kept up with maintenance as well as I do. My old truck (2001 Silverado ext cab Z-71) for the same city mileage as this truck and right at 18mpg on the highway on a average 70mpg trip, the current truck only mustered 16.29mpg on the last highway trip.

So far the tune seems to be helping, short test trip showed 18.21mpg. I figure if I can get the O2's changed out it will improve even more.
