I'm not following this...

GMS and GM Supplier are two totally different discounts for GM vehicles..........

GMS (General Motors Stock) is for employee's of General Motors. Employees can give the GMS price to eligible family members but still have to authorize them same as giving a GSU #. The number must be obtained and given by the Employee. They can be given to Spouse, Children, Stepchildren, Grandchildren, Step-grandchildren, Grandparents (including in-law and step), Parents, Stepparents, Siblings (including full, half and step), Mother-/father-in-law, Sons-/daughters-in-law, Brothers-/sisters-in-law, Same-sex domestic partners

GM Supplier is for people that work for companies that supply GM with services, i.e. UPS, Halliburton, Superior Wheel.....

EXAMPLE

MSRP*: $47,720.00

Great explanation. Now if only I had a relative who worked for GM....

I've used ours on my last 3 deals and they were in addition to the deal I made. First one was in 2000 on a Tahoe.

Two dealers shot down any idea of using supplier pricing as a discount beyond the prices they were quoting. One actually said if I used a supplier code, I would be paying $700 more than the price he was quoting me and there was nothing he could do about it.

Still working back and forth between the two dealers. One hasn't been willing to budge a penny more than the price they quoted me that first time I sat at his desk. The other is slowly getting closer to the same price, but certainly isn't in a hurry to get there. I figure one of them will find something they missed to add in by this weekend, or I'll be waiting for next months rebates to come out.

The invoice above shows a balance of $43,642. That's before the cash down is applied. The balance wasn't the $48K on the sticker. I'd guess that there was a trade-in involved to get you to the $33K selling price. So, you paid $33K plus the value of your trade-in plus discounts and rebates. That much I can believe.

No there was no trade in, I sold my car because I can got a better price than the trade in value by around $3500.

Again the price was as follows

2015 SLE All Terrain

MSRP $48,440

STICKER 43,600 with dealer sales, then an additional $9600 off due to the 20% off black Friday sales.

OTD 33,900 + TAX which was 3,100 when I registered the car in my home state.

FINAL PRICE 37,000

I dont see whats so hard to believe, again trucks come with a HUGE markup, its best to buy them at the end of the year.

Here is a link to the same deal I got mine from with 28% off MSRP right now.....

As your link proves, buying at the end of the year means nothing. It's buying that one truck that has been on the lot the longest that the dealer will get a hefty discount for finally selling. If you don't care about color, or options, and just want the best discount off MSRP, you can find them. Even my local dealer has one at $13k or so off right now, it's just not anything I want. That doesn't mean the HUGE markup carries over to anything else on the lot.

I have yet to see anything other than SLE double cabs qualify for that rebate program. Even the two local dealers with leftover 2014 SLT crews aren't discounting them that deep.

I've spent the better part of the month talking to multiple dealers figuring I'd be able to score a deal by the end of the month. Didn't happen. On SLT Crews, typical dealer discounts were $4500, rebates for me are $2600, so just over $7k off sticker was as good as I could find, and not a single one was willing to move $500 more to sell a truck this week. Here's hoping for better rebates for March.

After an exhaustive search involving dealers in several states, purchase was concluded yesterday of a '14

6.2L Silverado LTZ 4wd CCSB. It has White Diamond Tricoat paint with a Cocoa/Dune interior. The dealer was Voss Chevrolet in Centerville (suburban Dayton), OH. The truck was a "demonstrator," supposedly usedby one of their office personnel and had 3800 miles.

$55,300 MSRP (including $9935 in factory options)

- $5543 dealer discount

- $2000 demo discount

- $2000 GM trade assistance

- $1500 GM consumer cash

- $1750 GM old stock cash

- $1000 GM rebate for "Custom Sport" option

- $4015 GM card top-off

- $1500 Chevy private offer

- $500 Farm Bureau discount

$19,808 total discount

$35,492 price of vehicle

+ 375 GM bed and tailgate liners (already installed)

+ 250 doc fee (standard in Ohio)

$36,117 total (plus tax and title)

I have bought many new vehicles over the years, but never gave serious thought to a demonstrator. Given the teething issues of this model, it seemed like here it might have some merit. However, neither Carfax

nor the dealer supplied service history listed any repair work. Hopefully, it will be trouble-free!

There was no negotiation involved in this transaction. Unlike other stores, Voss clearly delineates its

pricing on its website. I would highly recommend that anyone shopping in SW Ohio give them a shot.

Also, I came across a few other demos at other stores and invariably there was little (if any) additional

discount for that fact.

My trade (a 2010 Honda Odyssey) did not influence the truck price in the slightest. The Honda store that

has serviced it since new offered to buy it outright last week for $16,500. Voss allowed $16,300 for it.

i looked into demonstrator models.....i didnt find the discount was worth having someone else drive 3,000 miles w/o caring about the car/truck long term..i dont see how they can sell them for NEW

2015 SLT All Terrain- msrp $52,000 Sell price $43,000 w/ all discounts, $2k gm credit card...also free mud flaps and $1k more on my trade in than it was worth

Is Laura Buick GMC price still the one to beat? Better than anything in OKC advertises.

15' GMC SLT All-Terrain Crew Cab 4x4 MSPR $50,570 For $39995 plus 174 in fees.

Its 500 miles away but seriously considering driving up there in trade in offer is reasonable

Worth the drive. 500 miles isnt all that far. I would have to fly there and drive home and I would even consider doing that when I get my next one.

Me too and I'm in Austin. My dealer won't touch those prices. I keep looking on their website...

I was in the same boat as you guys, was going to fly from seattle than said no way I'm doing that. Called around to every dealer in the seattle area and said why can't you meet or beat these prices. Found one that did

2015 Sierra Denal 6.2 8sp Black on Black 4x4

sunroof, driver alert, brake controller, rear bluray/entertainment, driver assist handle

$59095 MSRP

$53320 Price before rebates

$50070 with 2500 gm, 750 usaa

$55268 Out the door, (tax 4798, 150 dealer rip off fee, 250 license)

lauras 1000 trade assist shouldn't be listed in their pricing and their prices include all the rebates

Posted

the trade assist is included but it states all rebates that are included in the discription so i dont find it to be misleading

now trying to decide to just get the 4wd SLT with leather buckets and Nav for 2k less and have grill, bumpers, mirrors and handels painted/Wrapped (Brother inlaw has body shop) also those nasty woodgrain interior pieces

    • I gotta say, I'm enjoying your narration. The troubles you've been having are amusing as you describe them. It's good to see that you're finally getting some satisfaction out the old beast though.
    • Declaring victory would upset the demons that possess this Blazer, so I won't. But I did make progress today--after it put up a fight. Always a fight.   I had the day off so I spent the morning cleaning up the shop and I thought I'd get ahead of things by filling the cooling system in prep for the final part I needed to arrive: the driver's side knock sensor. Glug, glug, glug....and then the unmistakable sound of liquid hitting the shop floor. It induces the same chagrin when the sonar and targeting laser temporarily malfunction during a late night bladder evacuation over the toilet with the bathroom light off. D'OH!!! That made a mess...   Oh, hey, that knock sensor I removed? It threads into a wet port. Who knew?! Learn something new every day. Put a pin in that chore, I'll fill it the rest of the way later.   The knock sensor arrived at about 1pm. I threaded it in, connected the wire, filled up the coolant, checked for leaks, and... drumroll.... fingers crossed for a perfect start, excellent timing, model fuel trims, and ...no squeaks... Here goes.....   No, it didn't start. At all. I cranked it a few times and it wasn't sounding good. Furthermore, I heard leaking again. Jesus H Tapdancing Christ, stop leaking all over the dang floor. This time I had accidentally overfilled the coolant reservoir and the churn of the water pump via cranking caused a bit to burp out. Ok, just, breathe... Put the flamethrower down. Dang thing wouldn't burn anyway, leaks too much...   Did you know the rotation of a round crank sensor in a round hole, matters? I do now. Took me about half hour to retrace steps and realize what I had done. Then it started right up.   No squeaks. The squeak was the old balancer.   Once it entered closed loop, fuel trims are dead on, hovering right around zero at idle. No more -30%. I'll credit the injector rebuild on that one.   Timing? I think there's an OBD 1.5 translation error with my Actron scanner. It's anywhere from -20 to -30 at idle, sometimes as high as -40 cruising. Sorry, the engine just isn't running that smoothly at -40 degrees ignition advance. It's just not. It's smooth all through the rev range and has decent power. I'm going to have to trust the seat of my pants on this one.   The new exhaust is very quiet. The old catalytic converter? Not melted, but definitely not healthy. Rains glitter when you turn it on its end...all the precious metal is flaking out. Once the new exhaust system burned in/smoked off a bit, the engine's exhaust smell is normal again. Not that I'd recommend going around huffing car exhaust, but, you know what I mean?   One problem to correct. The new exhaust has the opposite problem of the old spliced up exhaust. It wants to hit the floor where the old one wanted to rest on the cross member. Happy medium, please? Still noodling on that one, need to look at how I can adjust some hangers.   I don't know what's next. On one hand I want to run away from this thing as far and as fast as I can -- there have been a lot of NOT fun moments. On the other, now that it kinda drives nice, maybe drive it around for a little bit?   Shhh... it's not currently dripping oil all over the floor. I can see just a little wet at the bottom of the timing cover where it meets the oil pan seal. It's not dripping multiple drops with every ignition cycle, in fact, after some driving this evening it has yet to even form a drop that could drip off yet. But the weekend is young... I fully expect this could turn into Exxon Valdez by Sunday. Because this Blazer hates me. LOL.
    • About that:   Once upon a time in a land far far away lived a car company that was shy about taking your money and wanted to be sure that they gave you more that you asked for so that you'd come back. No really, not a fairytale. 😱   But after the field got thinned out enough to limit the competition it seemed good enough to give you only what you asked for. Fair enough I say but in such a market you have to give something the others are not or they go to the one who does. Gimmicks or glitz. Oh, fins and chrome. Yea, shinny crow like cars. Yum.    Field narrows a bit more and 'brand loyalty' becomes a thing and the minute it does they start thinking to themselves, "Could we make more money if we gave them less than they expect and they will hang in there for brand and comfort with the known?" They gave it a try and da*n, it worked!!    Well, what if we teach them, groom them into believing that less is "Normal" and cut some more corners. Will that work? Oh heck yea!    🤔 I wonder, can we give then WAY less than they expect and make them mad enough to spit nails and STILL get them to pay up? Sure, if we get everyone else to do the same so that the choice is less or nothing at all. How would be do that? Platform sharing.  What a concept, right?  Steal like there is no tomorrow and it's legal too!    Truth is no one is going to give up driving, not for very long. The Gen Z crowd is fine with it and will be as long as someone not Gen Z will haul them around. At some point we all die.    Economic voting only works if you cast a NO vote now and again and enough of them to get dumb and dumber to wise up. Well, that's how I was taught anyway. And it should have worked. Would have worked. But the Bail out!!   Look, you have another choice if  you take that bag off your head. If the dumb it down to some predetermined expectation of how John Q Public will use it the, that is under design it to failure they you use it to a lower stress mode. D'ho!    A 1950 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 will go anywhere a Suzuki Hayabusa will and for just as long. But you will have to treat it for what it is and not for what you wish it was.
    • Maybe I was just too unlucky, but I had nothing but bad luck with Bridgestones. Out of 3 sets, they all started losing a lot of air when they got down to about 1/2 tread life, and at that point also wet traction suffered more than it should have. Also, the only tire I ever had in my 60 years of driving that had a side wall blow out was a Bridgestone.   I'm currently running Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT and am very happy with them.
    • maybe when the trip is over, check all the other joints in the front end, like all the ball joints, tie rods, pitman & idler arms, etc...
