Who has brakes from Napa?

Looking for brakes and rotors for my Wife's Cruze. I originally wanted to get EBC pads & rotors, but she decided she doesn't want to spend that much so I'm thinking of trying to find something decent from Napa.

I'm looking for a combo that will generate as little heat as possible, and still stop decent since she travels over two mountains to and from work every day. Anyone that has bought any brakes from there have any feedback on them?

The brakes from Napa are re-branded raybestos, satisfied and akebono brands, all very good brakes. The Napa safety stop and premium are just re-labeled raybestos service and pro grade pads, both of which are excellent. The adaptive1 brakes from Napa are made by the Canadian "Satisfied" brakes brand. The ultra premium pads from Napa are the Akebono Proact pads in a box that says Napa on it.

You can usually get the original brand pads from rockauto.com much cheaper but you will have to wait for shipping and will have to ship them yourself to return them if something goes wrong. Personally, I have had very good luck with the raybestos pro grade or Napa premium brakes. I did 2 brakes jobs with them a few months ago and they work great. I have had great service from both Rock auto and Napa. At Napa you can get a 10% discount by showing a AAA card or military ID (VA card works too, it is what I use there). Rockauto.com almost always has 5% off codes online that you can look up. Good luck!

Well, after researching for a few weeks I decided to go with Hawk High Performance Street Pads, and EBC Premium Rotors. From what I read in a few different places it was said to get a Premium blank rotor, and performance pads. Apparently the performance pads can withstand higher temperatures to prevent glazing of the rotors or something along those lines. I've used both EBC, and Hawk before with good results so I figured I would try them again. I'll post up info on how they worked out later. Thanks for the advice everyone.

let me know how they work out.... almost at 40k and my front brakes on the cruze are shot

You got it. My Wife has 47k on hers, and they are completely shot. The worst part about them is the shaking.

I bought the cheapest pads from Napa for my truck and they have lasted far longer than the originals. I tow a boat and drive in the mountains as well. I kind of think spending insane dollars on brake pads and rotors is a waste...

Sounds exactly like hers. It started out just shaking on the mountains, but now it's starting to do it every time you use the brakes. The mountains are what killed hers. The car doesn't hold itself back at all even if I put it down into 4th it doesn't really hold at all, and the revs are pretty high. Combine that with riding the brakes the whole way to hold it back, and the garbage drum brakes that look like they don't do anything at all from looking at the pad wear compared to the mileage, and it's no wonder there shot.

i know exactly what you mean... mines a 6 speed so i can downshift and it will slow it down a little.. but like you said the PA hills are rough on brakes
