Wow, i was unaware that GM is officially apart of the board. Thats certainly a great asset. I actually do have a question that you might be able to help me with. While i am very excited to get into a silverado, I have recently decided to hold off on my purchase so i can see what fords response is with the f150, along with the 5.0 cummins v8 in the titan.

Back to my question for you, do you have a timeline for the 8/9 speed transmissions I've been hearing so much about for the new chevy trucks? Also what kind of mpg increase would we be seeing in the truck with the new transmission.

Thank you for the compliment, eb233hwt! Unfortunately, I do not have access to information about future products.

Thanks anyway Jennifer, I'm excited to see how GM's trucks stack up to their competition once all the refreshed models come out.

As stated earlier, I have no plastic wood. There's plastic, but not the Fake wood.

I ordered a LTZ 1LZ 6.2 a couple weeks back. I hate the fake wood and was pretty happy when my salesman dropped off one for me to "fondle" as he put it. I failed to realize at the time that it was a LTZ Z71 which has the door trim that closer matches the dash trim. After the fact I realized I couldn't get the Z71 and Max Trailer together. So my salesman is looking into swapping the trim out for me. If they don't want to do it I will buy the trim and swap it out myself. (I own a shop and have a wholesale account with the dealership) the parts are about $43 per door wholesale so not a big deal.

I would get the LTZ if you can afford it. Way more standard features and you get some things that aren't available for LT's. Like the memory seats, auto dim mirror (yes, I know the LT can get one but only with the trailer style outside mirrors? WTF?), standard 5.3L, and the soft top instrument panel that looks way better then the standard dash. Also I am not a fan of the black door handles and mirrors. I prefer either color matched or chrome..

Chrome looks nice dont get me wrong. I just got rid of an F150 with chrome package, and let me tell you I would avoid it from now on unless you live in a climate without tons of rain and snow. I live up north and that chrome was constantly looking like crap. Dont get me wrong when clean it looks great.

I would personally like color matched, but I dont mind black either the door handles on the new trucks are much less gaudy then the old models.

Just my opinion, but I see no point in the Z-71 package anymore, its a skid plate, sticker and shocks, for almost 2 grand.

Not opinion but fact you can not get the NHT towing package with Z71 either just so some of you know.

Other than that compare with the tool and see what you want and what you can afford. Me personally I dont like leather so I got the LT, but you can get the LT with the All star package which gives you everything an LTZ does minus leather.

But what I have found in packages these days and it goes for all companies is you end paying for stuff you never use.

The LT ASE does not give you memory seats, heated/cooled seats, rear sliding

window, center console, passenger/driver 10 way power seats, the

telescoping column, or the projector headlights. So the All-Star is in

fact not the same, minus leather. I got an LTZ over the All-Star for

less than 2k and added all of those options. It was a no brainer. And

all of those options to add to the LT cost more than just getting the

LTZ, and I was so used to most of them in my 2011 that It was a selling

point this time around.
