Traded in my truck...

Well, long story short, a few months ago my Wife and I were buying a house when the bank decided to inform us 3 months into the process that it was in a flood zone. So instead of buying the house we passed because the flood insurance was to much of an unknown. We were already moved in because the bank told us we would be good to go, but they were wrong. Were currently renting from the owner, but he recently put it back on the market. So with my job being slow, and needing to open up my options for a house I decided to trade in my truck to free up more money every month.

I traded it in today on a 2014 Cruze RS. It's a nicely equipped car. Here's a picture:

I'll still be around I don't plan on leaving the forums. I plan to get an older GMT400 or 800 later on down the road after I get other more important things taken care of first. I have a good bit of parts for a GMT900 that I will be posting up for sale soon.

Awesome! I plan on buying the 2014 Diesel version before I go overseas.

Yea the diesel would have been great, but the price tag was a bit higher. This one was $19,835 with the $2,000 rebate.

They have it listed at 27k, USAA will get me 3k off on top of what the dealership will add to that.

Thanks Won. Not sure if the new loan will affect anything negative credit wise or not. My debt went down so I'm hoping it helps more than hurts. Not looking to buy until maybe next summer if possible so hopefully that's enough time for my score to improve more. As for my work I work at a manufacturing plant called Bonney Forge as a CNC Machinist. We make pipe fittings for the oil, and nuclear industry. We've been slow for over a year now, but it's gradually getting slower.

It will as a general rule. Anywhere from 15-50 points. Even if you reduced debt in the process. I had an 815 CR, refi on house and reduced the mortgage 25K from cash on hand in the process, and loan time to payoff 7 years( had 22 left on a thirty and took it to a 15). My credit still dropped to well under 800 because of a "hard" check.

Just a sucky rule, but its there.

Congrats on the new car!

I plan on buying a car next year, just for work & it to be my DD instead of my gas hog truck right now.

Has the diesels came out yet? If so, does anyone on here have one?

STINSAN test drive one you wont be dissapointed..also test drive a manual 1.4 eco... i get 33 city mpg and 41+ highway, might not be worth the higher cost to get the diesel

Daryl please tell me you got a manual

congrats BTW, great color

Nope automatic. I'm not one for having to shift all the time. I'd probably only get a manual in a Camaro or something that wouldn't be a daily driver.
